We attempted to re-do our kitchen but keep having one nightmare after the other. The contractor first hired that we waited a year for, tore off our old counters, cut the plumbing and installed new plug outlets and walked off the job, stating he did not want to do the job any longer. We had the floor torn off and down to the wood, no counters and Thanksgiving just around the corner. The counter was cut wrong twice, we are awaiting the third, we had a plank floor laid or rather started, and the contractor was not done in two days and did not want to stay for a third day, so we are waiting on another contractor to finish. Now Christmas is around the corner and we are still torn up. Better Homes and Garden….Take me away!!

My husband and I are remodeling a fixed upper and it has cost more than we anticipated. I’m the only income so we are on a tight budget. My husband is an out of work contractor because the economy hasn’t recovered in our area so we thought this would be a way for him to stay busy and make a income when we sell it. Hopefully we can sell it soon but we have to finish it first!
